Manager Development Training : Prioritization

The Law of Priorities:

  • What stood out to you as you watched this clip?

  • What do you find taking up most of your time? Are there things that are priority or is it just busy work?

  • How do you currently prioritize daily tasks and “emergency” situations?

This table is designed to help you weigh your priorities:

Situational Role-Play:

You are preparing to leave for a planned visit with a Partner when suddenly 5 people walk through the door to check-in for work. One team member is available, the other is with someone. What do you do?

A Partner requests an hours report and claims it is very urgent and they need it by the end of the day. However, you have your day booked with visits and a mandatory training. What do you do in this instance?

Application:

Use the table over the following week and be prepared to provide feedback next week on how it worked for you.

“When you say that everything is a high priority, then nothing is a high priority”

  • John C Maxwell
