🎭 Roleplay Scenarios: Conflict Resolution in a Staffing Office Setting

Use these roleplay scenarios to help managers practice handling conflict with professionalism, empathy, and clarity. Each script reflects common situations that may occur in a staffing agency or light industrial office environment.

⚖️ Scenario 1: Work Style Clash Between Recruiters

Context:
Two recruiters working on the same client account have clashing work styles. One is highly organized and prefers detailed documentation, while the other is more fast-paced and casual in communication. They've begun to avoid each other and deadlines are being missed.

Goal:
Help them find a shared understanding and set clear collaboration expectations.

Manager's Script Tips:
- Begin by acknowledging the tension.
- Ask each recruiter to share their perspective.
- Reflect their concerns back to show understanding.
- Facilitate agreement on shared practices (e.g., shared documentation or meeting frequency).

📆 Scenario 2: Miscommunication on Job Order Details

Context:
A recruiter and a coordinator are blaming each other for a client complaint regarding incorrect shift details given to associates. The recruiter says the coordinator changed details last minute, while the coordinator says the recruiter never confirmed updates.

Goal:
De-escalate blame and create a system to avoid future miscommunication.

Manager's Script Tips:
- Keep the conversation focused on the issue, not the people.
- Clarify the communication breakdown.
- Ask the team to collaborate on a better confirmation process.
- Reaffirm shared accountability.

⭐ Scenario 3: Recognition Conflict Between Team Members

Context:
An administrative assistant feels their hard work is overlooked while another team member frequently receives praise. Resentment is building, and collaboration is suffering.

Goal:
Rebuild team morale and ensure fair, meaningful recognition.

Manager's Script Tips:
- Meet with each employee individually, then together.
- Explore how each defines 'being valued'.
- Share appreciation in both public and personal ways.
- Set team norms around recognition and appreciation.
