Definitions

Provide definitions for any terms or acronyms used in this SOP that may not be commonly understood.

Procedure Steps

  • Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO/Harvest)

  • Resume and Questionnaire Required.

  • Schedules:

  • 2,2,3. 7-7. Rotate from day to grave every 28 days.

  • Rarely there are openings for straight days or graves.

  • Front-end loader experience. Experience with other large loaders

may also work. Skidsteers/Bobcats do not qualify.

  • CAT 980, Komastu WA500, are perfect. If they’ve ran those for years, they can work here.

  • 5 years of experience.

  • This is needed because the pond floors are fragile and if they don’t have enough experience, they can easily damage them.

  • Are they comfortable working rotating days/graves every 28 days?

  • Are they okay with 12-hour shifts, 7-7?

  • Haul Drivers (Articulated Haul Trucks)

  • Resume and Questionnaire Required.

  • Schedules:

  • 2,2,3. 7-7. Rotate from day to grave every 28 days.

  • Rarely there are openings for straight days or graves.

  • Can they drive large trucks, such as dump trucks, water trucks, garbage trucks, or CDL trucks?

  • The biggest difference between a haul truck and a semi-truck is that the ride is extremely bumpy for the haul trucks, and they drive on unstable roads.

  • Salt Plant or Mag Plant Production/Forklift

  • No Resume Required.

  • Schedules:

  • Salt Plant:

  • First 2 weeks is M-F, then 2,2,3 after that. Does not rotate days/graves.

  • Weekends only ($2 more), Fri, Sat, Sun. They can pick up OT if wanted on Thurs or Mon, but they do not get the differential ($2 more) for those days.

  • Mag (Magnesium) Plant:

  • First 2 weeks is M-F, then 2,2,3 after that. Does not rotate days/graves.

  • 5-person crew.

  • Do they have production experience?

  • This position does packaging and warehousing. They will be required to learn forklift and get OSHA certified (Compass will certify them).

  • They do not need a drivers license, but keep in mind, they’ll need to get to work every day somehow, and the busses don’t come out here.

  • Heavy lifting can be required, up to 50lbs.

  • This position is 50/50 production/forklift.

  • Shipping Clerk (Clerical)

  • Resume Required.

  • This position checks in truckers at the entrance. Very similar to US Cold’s Clerk Position.

  • Spreadsheet knowledge is great.

  • Customer service is necessary. Must have thick skin.
